Barclays Access All Areas
Barclays is pleased to once again host a tech zone at this year’s Parallel London event, showcasing how we are harnessing digital technology to eliminate barriers to accessibility. Our team will bring to life the many innovations we’ve already introduced. Our Digital Eagles and Eagle Lab technicians will also be on hand to show how we are embracing new technology – including 3D printers – to tackle every day issues. You’ll be able to experience the fun and creativity this brings and see some of what’s already been created and the stories behind these. Also join the team to find out more about keeping #digisafe and test out your reactions with our Whack-a-pi game or code yourself a micro:bit! Come along and visit the team, chill out on our giant bean bags and learn all about how Barclays is working tirelessly to be the #1 accessible company in the FTSE 100.
We are running a series of quick game coding sessions to help kids learn how games are made and to understand rules based coding. We develop educational gaming computer kits to encourage and promote game coding skills in Python and Scratch for children aged 7+.
Our aim for Parallel is to provide insights into game coding for kids especially with special needs and disabilities. Game coding imparts maths, logic, creativity, teamwork and better equips kids for the future workplace.
Blatchford design and manufacture orthotics, specialist seating and state of the art prostheses, designed to restore mobility to users and allowing them to live their life to the fullest.
How do I?
Proud to be back for our second year at Parallel, How Do I? increases the accessibility of products and services by linking products to step-by-step video guides.
We have created an app that teaches people the skills they need to live, learn and work independently – come visit our stand for live demos, prizes and to learn more about our #DontDisMyAbility campaign!
